Cancelation of Ministerial Conference

Due to objective circumstances the first Western Balkans Ministerial Conference on Addressing Climate Change through Mitigation and Adaptation, that was scheduled for 13^th and 14^th of November and for which invitations letters were sent in May is cancelled.

During consultations at the final stage of the preparatory process the organizers shared the view that more time and consultations at the expert and political level are needed to establish an appropriate framework in which Climate Change issues in the Western Balkans can be discussed in a strategic and productive manner. Developing of a common regional platform was originally proposed to serve as an input to Poznan COP meeting and a basis for Post Kyoto negotiations.

Partners are committed to continue to work on establishing an appropriate framework under which a common Western Balkans regional platform for strengthening the regional cooperation for UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol implementation can be elaborated.
